Chapter 8: Testing the System and Completing Assembly
Your system is now essentially built.
The mainboard and drives have been installed and connected. The expansion
cards have been added. Now it is time to begin testing to ensure that
the system works properly, and then finish assembly.
Figure 126
shows the inside of the case of the fully-built system. We’ll sit
the case upright, test it, and then replace the cover and bezel. There’s
still a bit to do afterwards as well, such as installing an operating
system.
Figure 126: The system is essentially built The mainboard has been installed. The drives have been installed, with ribbon cables and power cables connected. We’ve installed the AGP and PCI cards. Now, we test the system. Be sure the CPU fan is spinning before closing the side. You can run the system in any orientation. When closing the case, be sure no cables are pinched by the cover.
