Chapter 10: Configuring Windows XP
It’s crucial to note that when
you purchase a PC with software already installed, the manufacturer
has probably taken several steps to be sure the PC works well. For example,
all necessary drivers will be installed. You’ll need to do some
of these things yourself when you build your own PC. But, in so doing,
you’ll know more about your PC and be a better PC troubleshooter
in the future.
So now that we have completed the
basic Windows XP installation, let’s finish configuring the operating
system so that it works in top form. A few things should be done. The
order isn’t particularly important.
